Ekaterina (Kate) Lait - President

Course: Computer Science
Q: Why did you join TES?
A: I joined TES for the first time as Public Relations Officer going into my second year of college as I missed out completely on being an ambassador at the beginning of the year. It was completely on a whim and driven by my curiosity with the society. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made because it brought to where I am today and I am very grateful for all the support I received from my friends along the way.

Sinéad McAleer - Vice-President and Secretary

Course: Computer Science and Business
Q: Why did you join TES?
A: I joined TES as my experience as MD of a mini-company in secondary school gave me the confidence to know that everyone has the ability to start their own business. I joined a tonne of societies in first year but TES was the only one that stuck because the events were so accessible and the society had a great culture.

Q: Why did you join TES?
A: Honestly, joined for the events and the free stuff in the freshers week bags. Stayed for the events and ridiculous bar tabs.

Andriy Babiy- Fresher’s and Events Manager

Course: BESS
Q: Why did you join TES?
A: Honestly, it was cause I was on a society joining spree during freshers week.
But the reason I decided to stay a member of TES is because of the 'get sh*t done' atmosphere around all of the events. The sense of community, empowerment and progress is unparalleled and the members genuinely embody and create a network effect.

Christine Butler - Dragons Den Manager

Course: Science
Q: Why did you join TES?
A: I joined TES as I successfully started my own start-up in my first year of college and discovered my interest in working within the entrepreneurial world with other entrepreneurs and start-ups. I participated in the Launchbox start-up accelerator and was eager to continue working with start-ups, being an ambassador to the Incubator programme allowed me to do this and gain great insight into TES.

Kate

Kate Fullen- Speaker’s Convener (Hilary Term)

Q: Why did you join TES?
A: TES is a society which draws ambitious and interesting students from a multitude of different disciplines. In this sense, TES appealed to me as a welcoming society. On top of this, TES successfully identifies and fosters entrepreneurship in students which may otherwise remain undiscovered.
